Music industry mogul and Toronto native Drake has a serious interest in football and he placed one heck of a bet. Now he’s putting his money where his mouth is – as the Chiefs and Bengals clashed on Sunday, January 29, in the AFC Championship game. Drizzy bet $1 million that Kansas City would beat Cincinnati and earned $2 million from the win.
After many unsuccessful picks and failed a failed bet or two on Liverpool, Anthony Joshua, and Conor McGregor, a terrible omen came in the form of poor performances for certain sports stars that he had placed his money on.

Drake placed Million dollar bet during the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup
Three months ago, Drake placed a $1 million bet on Argentina to defeat France in regulation time during the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. To his regret, the French team would fall short of Lionel Messi’s team’s wizardry only after extra time. And a nail-biting penalty shootout decided the game.
But Drake bet and his fortunes turned around when Harrison Butker of Kansas City scored a 45-yard field goal as time expired. Not only was the bet a huge financial win for the rapper, but the 23-20 victory over the Bengals also advanced the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. Within four seasons, this is the third time they have qualified for the biggest sporting event in North America.
Recently, Drake has suffered heartbreaks and heavy defeats, including big-ticket losses enough to bankrupt the average person.Another instance of Drake’s bet failure was when he invested Canadian $2 million in mixed martial arts fighter Israel Adesanya. He was supposed to beat UFC star Alex Pereira and win the bout. However, all that money went down the drain as Israel lost the fight in 5th round by technical knockout on November 12.

A two-leg parlay involved Drake betting on two soccer games in October, one in Spain and another in England. His picks included the winner of Real Madrid versus Barcelona and Leeds United versus Arsenal. Even though Arsenal won, betting over CA$833,000 for Barcelona to win was a complete failure. The Spanish team lost 3-1.
The Gunners had little trouble with the Whites, and the tie was finalized in favor of the English team 1-0. But Xavi’s squad was a different story, failing to get a win over Los Blancos. As a result, Drake lost out on a CA$ 3.9 m return.
